Somehow with the “hustle” of life I managed to get behind on comics and I mean WAY behind!!! Currently I’m in the process of catching back up and hopefully should be finished by the beginning of February. My plan at that point is to begin doing my one line comic reviews on a weekly basis again. I’ve also updated the comics page on the site to list my pulls for February, so you can know what to expect for the month.

In other news, Michael and I started playing DC Universe Online and at the moment I’m def preferring it over WoW. We’ll see how long it lasts, when you’ve played Warcraft for as long as I have, it’s easy to get momentarily caught up in new games.

I probably should have done these a while back, but whatever…

So let’s be real, I’m fairly certain that it’s a well known fact that I’m an uber apple fan boy. This obsession doesn’t stop at computers or mp3 playing devices though, it even extends into the arena of mobile phones. I have owned every version of the iphone since launch and more or less loved every moment of it. I will admit there were several frustrations along the way, but I always told myself that Steve and the gang would get around to fixing those issue and for the most part they did.

So when the iphone 4 was announced I was beyond excited. It felt like every design flaw that I had ever complained about in prior iterations of the iphone had been removed. The retina display was amazingly beautiful and there was even a forward facing camera with which I could brett farve my friends with!

Needless to say I purchased this device as soon as I was able to and enjoyed every moment with it. Things were going fairly smoothly in the world of my mobile devices, until something happened and a friend of mine from work began to preach the wonders of the android platform to me. Being the apple fan boy that I am, I ignored him at first, but as time went on I became more and more interested. I wanted to try this new world of mobile wonder, yet I still craved the safety of the ios.
Well recently I was at a Best Buy and started playing with a Dell Streak. I liked that it had a larger screen than an iphone and felt more manageable than an ipad in size, I also liked how it flawlessly integrated with my gmail and google voice accounts, but more than anything else I was intrigued by how it ran android. I had to have one.
So a few days later I purchased this device from best buy and began my adventures with android. I was impressed that it had most of the same apps as my iphone had. I was also impressed with how simple everything felt, yet there was still a high level of customization not available to the iphone. A friend showed me how to “side load” apps and I enjoyed being able to install apps from my drop box account.

The tablet itself is of a manageable size, it’s a little too big to be a phone, but isn’t too big to fit in your pocket should you decide to take it somewhere with you, like the waiting room at the doctor’s office. I did have issues finding a suitable case, but ended up settling with an otterbox impact case and then using a USB hard drive case I found at best buy for transport in my back pack.
I’ve had the device for over a week now and have enjoyed every moment with it. I find android to be a fascinating operating system and I’m excited to learn more about it.

Hopefully in a few weeks I can come back with more of an in-depth review, but I felt like the story of what will probably be the beginning of my transition from iphones to android phones should be told.
