Somehow with the “hustle” of life I managed to get behind on comics and I mean WAY behind!!! Currently I’m in the process of catching back up and hopefully should be finished by the beginning of February. My plan at that point is to begin doing my one line comic reviews on a weekly basis again. I’ve also updated the comics page on the site to list my pulls for February, so you can know what to expect for the month.

In other news, Michael and I started playing DC Universe Online and at the moment I’m def preferring it over WoW. We’ll see how long it lasts, when you’ve played Warcraft for as long as I have, it’s easy to get momentarily caught up in new games.

Batman: under the Red Hood

Batman: Under the Red Hood

Batman: Under the Red Hood is the 8th movie in DC’s recent foray into straight to DVD / Blu-Ray films and like the others in this series it fell short of the glory of the comics it was based on. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy the style of animation in these movies, but something always feels slightly off about them. I personally think that it’s the voice acting and having to fit so much material into an hour and a half.

If you’re really interested in this story, I suggest reading Batman: A Death in the Family, Batman: Under the Hood and the currently running Red Hood: Lost Days.

I find myself not really caring about cyborg superman taking control of the alpha lanterns…

Who doesn’t love Larfleeze?

Love this series! Def the best thing Geoff Johns has going for him at the moment.

Kinda interested to see where this one goes, but it’s mostly the same theme of one of the ladies getting in trouble and the other two saving her.

More Batman randomosity.

Sadly this wasn’t pulled for me. I’ll pick up a copy on Friday…

Scott Pilgrim's Finest Hour

Scott Pilgrim’s Finest Hour
Volume 6
Rating: Five Stars

Scott Pilgrim’s Finest Hour was everything I could have hoped for in the series finale. As in the other books, there is plenty of humor, emo and about a million other random things happening all at once. I will say though that of all of the volumes, this one feels to be the most concisely thought out and written. I don’t want to say too much more about the book and spoil it for you, but I def recommend picking it up on Wednesday at your local comic book shop it you haven’t already.

I almost had the ending ruined for me because of a security device placed near the spine in the middle of the book, but I managed to blot that glimpse of story out of my mind until I returned there in reading the book.

I personally cannot wait to see what Bryan Lee O’Malley will bring us in his next work!
